Located in 1994, Guangdong Country Garden School (GCGS) is a boarding school providing a 15-year schooling system from Kindergarten to 12^th Grade, with a current cohort of over 4,800 students and faculty of over 700 local and international teachers. Covering an area of nearly 200,000 m² and famous for its beautiful environment and first-class facilities, the school has been honoured with the titles of Guangdong First Class School, Guangdong Green School and Outstanding Group in National Private Education.

Guided by Deng Xiaoping's principle of "Orienting education towards modernization, globalization and future construction", the school has formed characteristics of intelligent education and personalized education. With a focus on personalized education and based on national curriculum, the school has brought in six major international programs, including PYP, MYP, DP, IGCSE, A-level and AP, to establish a curriculum system which takes root in Chinese curriculum and integrates Chinese and overseas education. The project of "Research into the Practice of Integrated Curriculum of National and International Education in the Bay Area based on the Development of Core Values for Chinese Students" has been approved by the Development Centre for Textbooks of Elementary Education from Ministry of Education as well as Research Institute for Textbooks. Meanwhile, the results of research and practice on "Integrated Curriculum" has been spoken highly of by the experts from the Development Centre for Textbooks of Elementary Education.

GCGS has been the first school in mainland China to be fully authorised to provide three IB programs (PYP, MYP, DP).

Bringing the world to the classroom, the school has developed a serious of courses of "action and knowledge", including "Hainan Exploring Activity "for Primary Section, "Youth Hiking for Culture Exploration"  for Junior High Section, "Frontier Cycling" and "China Week - Service and Volunteering" for Senior High Section. These courses incorporate action and adventure, service and responsibility, inter-discipline and collaboration. Specifically, “Frontier Cycling” has been reported by CCTV and received positive responses from the public.

With an emphasis on labour education, the school values the ability of practice and thought and strives to develop students' practical ability and creativity. Students are able to work in Xinyue fields and gardens, planting trees and vegetables as well as keeping silkworms and fish. The school has also established a STEAM center and a series of Maker courses. Through these tiered courses, students will be able to grow into real Makers. The school is an experimental school of STEAM and Maker Education accredited by Ministry of Education, as well as a Model School of Labour Education in Foshan.

The school has made extraordinary academic achievements, with numerous graduates entering top universities worldwide, including the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, the University of Chicago, Columbia University, Cornell University, Tsinghua University, Peking University and so on. The admission rate to the world’s top 50 universities (QS and US News Rankings) has reached as high as over 90% for five consecutive years (2016-2020).
