The University Counseling Center (UCC) of Guangdong Country Garden School (GCGS) is dedicated to empowering students to navigate their higher education journey with confidence, integrity, and a global perspective. Our mission is to provide personalized, student-centered guidance that aligns with each individual’s academic strengths, passions, and long-term aspirations. We strive to cultivate critical thinking, self-awareness, and resilience in students, equipping them to thrive in competitive university environments and beyond. By fostering collaborative relationships with families, faculty, and universities worldwide, we aim to demystify the admissions process and inspire students to pursue institutions where they will grow as scholars, leaders, and socially responsible global citizens.

2. Curriculum and Resources

Our comprehensive college counseling curriculum is integrated into the unique GCGS experience, beginning in Grade 9 with foundational workshops on self-assessment, academic planning, and career exploration. As students progress, they engage in targeted seminars covering essay writing, interview preparation, and portfolio development, alongside individualized meetings to refine university lists and application strategies. We provide access to Cialfo, a robust platform for researching universities and tracking applications, and host annual college fairs and/or virtual talks with representatives from Ivy League schools, U.K. Russell Group institutions, and other top-tier global universities. Additionally, our alumni mentorship program and mock admissions panels offer real-world insights, ensuring students are well-prepared to present their unique narratives authentically and effectively. Meanwhile, we also offer Parents Academy Sharing to help parents understand better the application process and the support they could offer to their kids.
