CASRA PROGRAM

CASRA Program: Definition and Purpose

At our school, the CASRA Program is an integral part of student development, built upon the IB Diploma Programme's CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) framework. CASRA stands for Creativity, Activity, Service, Responsibility, and Awareness. It not only fulfills the IB’s CAS requirement but also reflects our school’s commitment to cultivating socially responsible, self-aware, and actively engaged students.

What is CASRA?

CASRA combines the spirit of IB’s CAS with two additional pillars:

1. Responsibility: Students take ownership of their actions and learning processes through goal-setting, leadership, and ethical decision-making

2. Awareness: Students develop a deep understanding of themselves, others, and the broader community through reflection and meaningful experiences.

Components of CASRA:

1. Creativity: Engagement in the arts, innovation, and creative thinking (e.g., drama club, music ensembles, design projects).

2. Activity: Physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle (e.g., school sports teams, hiking clubs, fitness challenges).

3. Service: Volunteering and community involvement with real, measurable impact (e.g., tutoring, local outreach, fundraising)

4. Responsibility: Leading initiatives, managing time, and making informed, ethical choices

5. Awareness: Reflecting on one's growth and recognizing the value of community, culture, and global issues

Students are expected to pursue CASRA experiences throughout their years in the IB program, documenting their goals, progress, and personal reflections through a structured portfolio.

CASRA at Our School:

We offer a variety of school-supported CASRA opportunities, including:

1. Student-led clubs and committees

2. Environmental and social justice projects

3. Athletic and creative competition

4. Global service learning trips

5. Partnerships with NGOs and local charitie

Through CASRA, students emerge as well-rounded individuals who are not only academically strong but also compassionate, reflective, and action-oriented citizens.
